Welcome to New Genesis!

Long ago, on a planet known as the GodWorld, in a dimension other than Earth's, there lived a golorious race of beings now known as the Old Gods, led by a monarch called Wotan. His illegitimate son Lokee led a rebellion against Wotan's rule that brought about a war so catastrophic that it destroyed the entire planet, splitting it into two barren, molten halves.
As the years passed, the two planets cooled and brought forth new life. The race of New Gods that arose on the planet New Genesis were granted nobility by the "living atoms" of Balduur, one of the Old Gods. New Genesis was an unspoiled, extraordinarily beautiful sunlit world of green forest, white mountians, and clear waters (ruins of the cities of the Old Gods can still be found on the planet's surface.) Apokolips, spinning in New Genesis' shadow, was said to have been saturated with the evil and cunning of a sorceress from the time of the Old Gods. The New Gods of Apokolips turned the planet into an enormous armed camp filled with factories producing the means for war. Many years later, this war came about, and
New Genesis was devasated because of the machinations of Darkseid, who became the absolutute monarch of Apokolips. The New Genesis warrior Izaya became Highfather, leader of New Genesis, and made a pact with Darkseid that temporarily ended the War.
New Genesis' green forests and paradisiacal appearence returned, in time. The Gods of New gGenesis now lived in Supertown, a golden city orbiting high above the planet's surface. Underground, the Bugs, a race of insect-like humaniods and near-humanoids, lived. Recently the population of Bugs has been decimated by the explosion of a powerful bomb.
War broke out again between New genesis and Apokolips. Instead of the previous all-out devastion, the current warfare has so far been restricted to battles of limited scope on the two worlds and on the planet Earth.
Apart from Highfather, other notable past and present inhabitants of New Genesis include the following individuals: Orion, the warrior son of Darkseid and the adopted son of Highfather; Scott Free, Apokoliptian raised son of Highfather and Earth super hero Mister Miracle; Lightray, who has the power to generate solar energy; the Forever People (Beautiful Dreamer, Big Bear, Mark Moonrider, Serifan, and Vykin), Earth Children of different time periods that Highfather had raised in New Genesis; Metron, the scientist and cosmic explorer; Himon, the master scientific theortician and inventor; Bekka, his daughter; Fastbak,who can move at superhuman speed; Lonar, a warrior who rides the Battlehorse Thunderer from the age of the Old Gods; The deceased Forager and his namesake Forager 2 representing the Bugs; Esak,a young boy who is now the protege of Highfather and Metron; and the Commander, the head of New Genesis's military forces and Highfather's rival for political power.
